Myths & Monsters: Jersey Devil
This is the full reveal of my submission to the "Myths & Monsters" art show taking place at the (virtual) art gallery, Acid Free Gallery, located only on the "interwebs" at http://acidfreegallery.com. This was inspired by the legend of the creature that roams the Pine Barrens of New Jersey. Also inspired by time spent growing up in the Garden State, and it's penchant for Heavy Metal bands performing at it's greatest musical venue, the Meadowlands Arena. I saw many a horrible spectacle there, both on and off of the stage, and I'll cherish those moments...

Crazy 4 Cult 6 NYC! (with a sneak peak)
Hey all,
By now, you may have heard the news that this year's Crazy 4 Cult, presented by Gallery 1988 in Los Angeles, is traveling to the east coast this year, and taking over New York City!
I'm lucky enough to be a part of this for the second year in a row, with other friends like Tom Whalen, Dave Perillo, Ian Glaubinger, Jason Liwag, and 195 other artists...
I'm very proud of my submission for this show, and being that it's in NYC this year, I figured I'd have to reflect on that with my subject matter. For those that don't know, Crazy 4 Cult is an annual show in it's 6th year that pays tribute to "cult films", ranging from comedies to science fiction to action films, etc. I'm just going to give you a little taste, and I'll let you figure out what my inspiration is. This will be easy to guess for anyone that knows me, even just a little...
If you can make the connection, let me know. Even if you can't, just take a guess. Gabba Gabba Hey!
Your pal,
Derby

Diana Krall Summer Nights Tour poster
Hey all,
I was just given to okay to show this piece off! A few months ago, I was approached by Diana Krall's management to come up with some ideas for a tour poster that would be given to concert goers that participated in the "VIP package". The poster would be signed by Diana, and makes a great limited edition, hard to get item. I just got my samples yesterday, and they came out great. It was tough to come up with ideas for her that reflected the type of music she does, and her overall "persona". I took inspiration from old jazz albums, creating abstract images of musical instruments and borrowing color schemes from old Blue Note and Verve album covers. The photo, shot by Marco Grob, is what really makes the poster "pop", in my opinion...
12" x 18"
4 color screenprint
available only through DianaKrall.com
as part of the VIP Upgrade Bundle
