"Do You Remember?"
Hey all,
It's been a while... Just recently got around to getting pictures taken of a series of paintings that I did for a music-themed show back in March. I decided to do super close-up representational paintings of the 3 individual members of one of my favorite bands: Hüsker Dü
As an extra twist, I did each member in a primary color (following with the theme of 3s) Using Red for Bob (Mould), Blue for Grant (Hart), and Yellow for Greg (Norton)...
Photos taken by Johnny Ciuppa. Go check him out at http://www.myspace.com/jicphotography

"Dear Diary..."
I just finished this one in time for a tribute book being put together by the Philly Cartoonist Society, entitled "Children of the Watchmen". Opening night will take place in Olde City, Philadelphia at the Brave New Worlds comics shop on Nov. 7th ( NOTE: date changed from the previous Oct. 3rd). The book and some of the original pieces found within will be available to view and purchase. C'mon out and say hello...

Bats and Birds...
It's been a while since the Pittsburgh con... We got to hang with old friends, make new friends, and get drunk with the very cool actor that plays "Chief" on Battlestar Galactica. All in all, a great weekend. Wizard World Philly is right around the corner, and we hope to see you all (three of you) in artist alley. Got a few more sketch cards done. I don't think these two need any introductions...

Rollins, 'nuff said...
...or maybe not. Quick study in the sketchbook... Did this one with a bunch of gray scale markers, a gray brush pen, and some micron pens. Based on a photo by the legendary Glen E. Friedman... If you've never read it, check out Rollins' "Get in the Van: On the Road with Black Flag". An amazing book that any serious music fan should read...

Exene Cervenka, The First Lady of Punk. I finally got to see X a few summers ago for the first time. I've gotten to see them a few times since then, and they will always be one of the greatest bands to see live. They've still got it after all these years...
I did this one with a Sharpie marker, and a pack of color highlighters at work one afternoon, waiting for the "work whistle to blow". It's a bit rough, but I'm proud of it anyway...

Happy New Year!
I'll spare you all of the lame excuses, and even lamer promises to be more productive, create more art, post more, blah blah blah BLAH! Here's a shot of the two paintings of my "children" that I created for my wife for Christmas. The Pug's name is "Meatball", and the French Bulldog's name is "Porkchop". She really enjoys the paintings, and I hope you do, too!
